About Us:
Risk-Resilience Research (RRR) is a fun, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of students, staff, and scholars at the University of California, Berkeley. Our mission is to improve justice, safety, and well-being for people and communities at risk, through policy-relevant research. The RRR lab is directed by Professor Jennifer Skeem, a psychologist affiliated with the Goldman School of Public Policy and School of Social Welfare.
Job Description:
We are looking for a student to join our team to help create, promote and share stories about our lab: events, faculty, research, etc. This role will work with our leadership team to develop compelling campaigns and narratives, and to co-manage our social media presence.
The applicant must be a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who is versed in graphic design, familiar with the basics of social media platforms, and excited to be part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and generate innovative ideas for social media campaigns, as well as email campaigns, web content, and marketing materials.
- Produce a range of high-quality digital media assets leveraging photography, video, graphics and writing.
- Manage and maintain the social media channels, including posting regular updates, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages.
- Monitor social media followers on campus and elsewhere to amplify and re-share relevant content.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in content marketing and social media management.
- Update website as needed.
- Availability to work 5-10 hours per week, remotely, including weekly in-person check-in meetings.
Ability to adjust shift days/times occasionally to meet program and event needs.
The hours are flexible, and can work around class schedules. The work will be performed in a hybrid setup (some onsite; some at home or other locales).
Qualifications:
- Experience managing and authoring content for social media.
- Demonstrated experience with visual digital design and video creation tools.
- Comfort with peer outreach.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Strong self-guided time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiar with social media and with cloud content management like google docs and Box.
- Familiarity with Adobe creative suite.
- Experience with Canva & WordPress required.
- Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) 2.0, Level AA
