Understanding and reducing racial disparities in supervision and incarceration
In the U.S., both crime and crime control disproportionately affect low-income people and communities of color. During this era of criminal justice reform, policymakers are looking for ways to do less damage to populations and communities at risk.
We are partnering with the U.S. Administrative Office of the Courts to describe, understand, and innovatively address racial disparities in pretrial detention and postconviction supervision. Using mixed methods, we are examining all 94 districts to develop actionable recommendations.
